GARDEN REDESIGN AND LANDSCAPING
A Design Focused Garden
A strong design aesthetic sets this garden apart, where hard landscaping becomes art.
Before and after the garden renovation
The garden redesign details
-
Our clients’ were looking for a garden that would be as stylish as their recently renovated house, and were looking to embrace bold ideas.
The brief was open and we were given free rein to explore creative ideas.
-
Without a need for a lawn, or a large seating area, we were able to create generous flowerbeds , which we filled with large swathes of the same plant, to give a bold, pathwork effect.
The small central hexagon was a break from the traditional patio shapes usually seen in gardens and broke up the path between the house and studio.
The charred larch cladding, called “shou sugi ban”, on the house and studio, led to the concept of using multiple brick colours, with black at each end. The blending of these colours created a dynamic effect and brought a bold and defining style to the garden.
