We're delighted to announce that we have just become a Living Wage accredited employer in partnership with the Living Wage Foundation. For some employers this can mean a significant change to their wage structure, but here at Cultivate we have always believed in the value of our employees and have paid above the Living Wage since the company was founded. We believe that's one of the reasons why our customers say things like "The hardest working team I have ever seen. Polite and considerate." about us!
So why gain accreditation now?
The Living Wage Foundation describe themselves as "...an organisation at the heart of the independent movement of businesses and people that campaign for the idea that a hard day’s work deserves a fair day’s pay." and for us that phrase sums up both the importance and value of paying proper wages. Its about standing with other businesses and people to say "no" to a never ending race to the bottom that leaves employees unable to afford housing. Its about proudly being part of a movement that believes that business is, and always should be, about more than just profit. And of course, its about motivated, valued and respected employees who feel part of something purposeful.
So we're delighted and proud to join other accredited companies such as Ikea, Aviva and KPMG who are Living Wage employers, as well as independent Cambridge companies like Clamp Optometrists, BB+C Architects, and the Cambridge Cookery School.
If you're a Cambridge business interested in becoming a Living Wage employer then get in touch with Cambridge City Council who are big supporters of the movement.
