3 tulips for a colourful spring

Tulips are fantastic plants for bringing a burst of late spring and early summer colour, and work very well when timed to flower in sequence, but with some overlap of flowering time.

We've put together a great selection of 3 bulbs that will provide 6 weeks of stylish colour for springtime.

Yokohama:

A cheery yellow early single tulip which starts flowering around the time most daffodils are dying back, so is great for colour continuity and to hide the unsightly daffodil leaves as they wilt.

Early Purple Prince:

A lovely deep purple colour, which looks great interspersed with the Yokohama, and starts and finishes little later. If you prefer a more mellow purple then another option is to substitude for Candy Prince.

Yume No Murasaki:

Finish off with another deep purple which comes out at the tail end of the Early Purple flowering period and effectively extends the same colour palette for longer. It's ideally suited to pairing with a white spring flowering plant such as Galium Odoratum, which will also fill in the gaps and hide the yellowing tulip leaves.

So there you have it, three beautiful tulips to kick start your summer.
